Scarborough

Scarborough was Britain’s first seaside resort and is steeped in history. It has been welcoming visitors for centuries and remains as popular as ever. There are two wonderful beaches perfect for children. The quieter North Bay being the closest to Home Farm with hundreds of rockpools revealed at low tide which provide endless fun for children.

Around the headland is the busier South Bay home to the penny arcades and the fun fair with rides and dodgems, always a favourite with the kids. Here you can take a walk around the charming harbour and maybe take a speed boat ride around the bay.

Whitby & Robin Hoods Bay

Further up the coast historic Whitby with it’s famous abbey and Dracula connections. 199 steps lead down from the historic abbey to the cobbled streets full of interesting and unique shops. A couple of miles back down the coast takes you to the enchanting smugglers village of Robin Hoods Bay a must to visit. Both Whitby and Bay are half an hour’s drive away and with their lovely beaches are well worth a visit.

North York Moors

Home Farm Scarborough is situated on the border of the North York Moors National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. For the more active and adventurous in your party there are plenty of excellent walking and cycling opportunities in nearby Dalby Forest, along with a spectacular Go Ape course. There is also the North York Moors Railway where you can take a nostalgic ride on steam train between Pickering and Goathland, made popular by the hit TV series Heartbeat.

York

An hour’s drive takes you to the walled city of York, one of the most picturesque cities in England. Here you will find the National Railway museum and also the very interesting Jorvik Centre detailing the Viking heritage of York Museum, as well as the interesting Castle museum which brings Victorian and Edwardian England to life with recreated streets. On the way to York stop at the famous historic house, Castle Howard. Made famous by the film Brideshead Revisited and more recently Bridgerton it is well worth a visit.

What Our Guests Have To Say

Everything we needed

I have looked for some time for a holiday let that gave us a completely private swimming pool, the rest of the house was just the cheery on the cake. Our recent holiday at home farm was lovely. The cottage was well laid out and plenty of space for all. The cottage was clean and tidy, you provided everything we needed for our stay. We all enjoyed the swimming pool very much. Rocky our dog loved the enclosed garden and walks along the near by river.

The suite was great

Recently stayed with family members ranging from 1-92. Plenty of room for us all and we enjoyed sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine. A very well equipped kitchen with 2 large fridge freezers and dining area perfect for all of us. The accessible suite and pool were the main reasons for booking due to my daughter and elderly mums mobility issues. The suite was great all on one level with a wet room.

Living the Dream

A wonderful setting and great social space for family celebration. Everything is extremely well organised and provides spaces and variety for family fun in the garden, the pool and the house itself. We accommodated our family (aged between 2 to 72 years of age) and found fun and laughter in a wonderful location close to Scarborough attractions. A really great holiday home Thanks to Melanie and her team.

Wonderful holiday house for the whole family

Fantastic house for a multi-generational family holiday. The kids loved the pool it was great that we could keep an eye on them without having to be in the pool ourselves all the time. The accessible suite was perfect for my parents- my Dad uses a wheelchair and it was so nice to find a place that was suitable for all the family together. Would definitely recommend.

Can't wait to come back again

We've had the most wonderful family holiday here at home farm house. The house itself is a cosy gem nestled in a beautiful village which sits outside the main hustle and bustle of the Scarborough seafront. A holiday in the UK in April is always a gamble with the weather but the amazing indoor pool meant that we were covered in any eventuality. Our children wanted to be in there the entire time! The house itself was immaculate, warm and inviting. Laid out perfectly for a big family get together. The owners were wonderful with communication and we felt very well looked after. We're already planning our next trip back.

Home away from home

Home farm Scarborough is a very lovely cosy place to stay it has all the amenities, on arrival we we're greeted with some special little touches for our boys birthday even the dogs got a lovely little welcome pack. The house has plenty of space for our family of 3 generations. Everyone enjoyed the pool very much, my only suggestion would be to fit a accessible lift for the swimming pool.(This did not stop us from getting our dad in the pool there where many hands to help) Very accommodating for those with accessible needs everywhere else on the ground floor. Some great local views, plenty to explore.
